Hi. My name is Darlene Morton and I’m the Owner and Founder of Salon Solace. Even after 35 years in the beauty industry, the satisfaction of making you feel and look beautiful continues to be deeply fulfilling. I welcome you to our place of quiet beauty, Salon Solace.

I specialize in cutting and styling curly hair. I earned my certification with Ouidad, the curl experts, in March 2022 and introduced the Ouidad products to my salon to better service my guests with wavy, curly, tight curls, coily curls, and all types of curls. Please note, I do not comb-out dread locks or matting in curly hair. Along with my passion for curls, I have many years experience in coloring that includes virgin color, retouch color, balayage color, highlighting, low-lighting, pops of color, and gray transitioning..

In addition to Hair Stylist, I’m also a Yoga Instructor. I’ve always turned to movement as a stress reliever, but when I took a yoga class, I was hooked because it added so much peace and groundedness to my life. As a result, I became a certified Yoga Instructor and I conduct small group classes when my schedule allows.

Salon Solace is a calm and friendly salon with a zen-like atmosphere. We share our many years of experience in the beauty industry while providing personal service. Salon solace is a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of your day to relax and recharge. You’ll feel beautiful and your spirit will feel lifted. That’s why we call it a place of quiet beauty.

Hello, my name is Barbara Paulo.  I am very happy to join Salon Solace as a Master Colorist and Creative Designer. I am a native to the Pioneer Valley. After many years experience as a professional stylist and salon owner, in 2003 I founded Shear Xtreme Salon where I created an atmosphere in which each client feels welcomed, pampered and genuinely cared for. It’s my goal to always exceed your expectations. Hairstyling is my passion and art.

I also have a team of expert stylists, Beauty to Be. As your wedding or special event needs arise, we can assist by being your on and off-site hair and make-up team. Our team makes it a priority to undergo continuous education, certification and training to keep current on the latest styles and trends. We will always remain focused on your individual needs by taking the time to listen and make your vision a reality.

I invite you to sit back and enjoy a quiet moment away from your busy day in my chair. I can create your new look and teach you how to maintain that style with the right products and tools.
